Another amazing Trompe L’Oeil painting by the renowned artist Christopher Harrison, signed as always with his initials CJH, painted as one of a triptich for the present owner and entitled ‘The Craftsman’, featuring some of the artist’s favourite subjects including a ranger of metal tools, wooden artefacts, and other interesting items, approximate overall dimensions 815 mm by 920 mm high, with ‘painted’ frame giving an amazing impression of real objects, the other two paintings in the series being entitled ‘The Surveyor’ [see TOL-15070] and ‘The Architect’ [see TOL-15069 ]
Christopher Harrison was born in Surrey in 1935, the son of Frederick Clifford Harrison, also a Fine Artist and an earlier exponent of the Trompe L’Oeil genre for which Christopher is famed, and is married with five children and has interest amongst others in music, photography, and sports.
Work by CJH is featured in Galleries and Private Collections World-wide and has been exhibited in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and with the Royal Society of British Artists.
